About Dr. Anna Miller

dr anna millerDr. Anna Miller is board certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmologists.  She received her MD and PhD degrees from the Moscow Medical School and practiced medicine at the Helmholtz Institute in Moscow before immigrating to America in 1989.

Upon arrival in Pittsburgh, Dr. Miller worked in ophthalmology research with Dr. John Kenerdel at Allegheny General Hospital for three years.  Her research with Dr. Kenerdel expanded the number of publications to her credit to over 20, in both Russian and English.  She then studied for two years before passing her Entrance Exam for Foreign Physicians, and proceeded to do her residency at the St. Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Dr. Miller was employed by a large Ophthalmology group in Pittsburgh before starting her Eye Care Center in 2005.  Her practice is now growing rapidly in two locations.  She has continually expanded the number of examination rooms, testing equipment, and staffing in each of her offices.

The rapid growth of her practice owes to both her extensive training and background, and a compassionate and personal approach to working with her patients.  The care of her patients always includes intensive explanations of the options available and the expected outcomes.  She invites second opinions and actively refers her patients to other specialists when doing so is in the interest of the patient.
